Your whole day is spent going from one responsibility to the next. Going to work, picking up the kids, getting groceries, cleaning your home, going to the gym, etc. The list goes on!
So now you’re considering audiobooks, because hey, you can listen to them at the same time as doing most of those things.
Stephen King once said, “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” We couldn’t agree more, audiobooks even more so.
We believe that listening to great stories makes people happier, helps them learn, and makes them grow. That’s why we’ve created an audiobook service that lets you take your favorite books anywhere.
We listen at work, at the gym and on weekend road trips, which makes finding the time to be inspired, educated and entertained by books really easy.
We’re all about combining our love of books with our passion for technology and innovation to create a service unlike any other.
To put it simply, we’re a bunch of book and tech nerds doing cool things to make listening to books better, since 2014. We started as Royal Hawaiian Press, publishing paperbacks and e-books worldwide.
To keep to with changing times we evolved into audiobooks. Welcome to iVOX.
PHILOSOPHY
Recent research about the neuroscience of listening and reading has used functional MRI techniques to detect brain activity associated with these tasks.
Research has shown that listening to an engaging story activates not only the areas of the brain known for linguistic processing but also areas associated with mental imagery, though the degree of involvement of mental imagery varies across individuals.
Study of fMRI data has also let researchers explore how different individuals may elicit different meanings while listening to the same story.
